It has one of the largest barrier reefs in the world, making it a destination for divers and snorkelers. You can also catch ferries to various islands in the chain if you want to do a little exploring.
Key West, Florida
Key West may not seem all that exotic, but it really is an amazing place to visit on a cruise. You can find a variety of local restaurants that can wow you with local conch specialties or simply hang around and enjoy the crystal clear water and blue skies. If you’re a book lover, give Ernest Hemingway’s home a visit while you’re there or simply visit a few bars on Duval Street if that’s what you desire – you’re on vacation, after all!
San Juan, Puerto Rico
Although Puerto Rico is still recovering from a hurricane, the charm has not left the city of San Juan. It even has the Caribbean’s tallest mountain if you’re up for a real challenge.
St. Martin
St. Martin, also known as St. Maarten, is a very popular destination for cruise lines. It is owned by the French and Dutch and gets millions of visitors each year who want to take in the melding of these two cultures. You can go shopping on the Dutch side of the island or the French side and try out different types of food in each location, too.
